Over 50% of Californians vote by mail.
The California Primary is on June 7 so for early mail-in voters, official California Election Ballots were mailed to voters who requested them and most people received their ballots this week. If not they should be delivered to homes in the next few days.
Sign, Date, and Mail Promptly!
If you want your vote to be counted in the first election night counts, then your ballot must be postmarked by the Tuesday before Election Day, May 31.
The latest your California Primary Mail-In Ballot can be postmarked or dropped off at any polling station or the Registrar Of Voters by 8PM on Election Day, June 7. All votes postmarked by June 7 will be counted, however the votes mailed in after May 31 will not be counted in time for election results reported on election night.
All mail-in ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by the Registrar no later than the Friday after Election Day.
Each mail ballot packet is sent with one official optical scan ballot and a Return/Identification Envelope (mine is blue!) which must be used to post the ballot and can only be opened by the Canvassing Board.
So, I tend to open my ballot, fill it out, and post it the same day. There is only one Initiative on this election day so no problem for me to vote promptly -sometimes the initiative are more challenging than this election day with only Prop 50.
So, make your votes for US Presidency, for the US Senate replacing the retiring Barbara Boxer, vote for your local elections and Prop 50, then sign and date you envelope — Very Important- only signed and dated envelopes re opened — and mail in your California Primary Ballot! It’s that easy this year!
Get your California Primary Mail-In vote out in the mail ASAP.
